Christians Frustrate Me!

I guess I should rephrase my title to say SOME Christians frustrate me.  I had a conversation today that left me completely disguised at how judgemental people who call themselves Christians can be…I wish I could elaborate more on what happen, but to protect the innocent (or maybe not innocent) I will refrain.  Honestly though, do we really believe that only people who are christians can do good things or that we are the only people who know anything?  If that were the case why would we have a need to say “being good won’t get you into heaven”…The truth is a few years ago when I started learning it was OK to be friends with people who are “not Christians” I realized how much I could learn from “those people” I had been taught to stay away from in church.  I have some amazing friends that are not Christians and that do not share the same value system I have.  Do I hope they get saved one day?  YES!  Am I going to love them any differently if they never do? NO! I would do anything for these friends that I would do for one of my Christian friends and the truth is some of these friends have been better friends than some of the people I’ve met in church.

The truth is Jesus didn’t have a problem with hanging out with the outcast of the religious society and the only people Jesus ever seemed to really get in arguments with were those crazy religious folk.  When will we as Christians get off our high horses and realize God created ALL of us for a reason. Get a grip people…you’re not God and you certainly aren’t perfect…work on the oak tree in your eye before you try to pick the splinter out of my friends eye!
